2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Muffler

You need to remove the catalytic converter, the muffler assembly, and the left front floor panel Exhaust Heat Shield nuts and heat shield. If the vehicle is a Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon Denali, or Escalade, remove the exhaust heat shield nuts and heat shields. If the vehicle is a Suburban, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali XL, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, or Avalanche, remove the exhaust heat shield nuts and heat shields. Then you can remove the rear floor panel exhaust heat shield nuts and heat shield.

You need to remove the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S), and the catalytic converter to Exhaust Manifold nuts. (1500 series shown, 2500 series similar), the front wheelhouse liner-right side, the spark plug wires from the spark plugs, the spark plug wires from the ignition coils, the oil level indicator tube from the engine block, and the exhaust manifold bolts and exhaust manifold, remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket and remove and discard the exhaust manifold seal. If replacing the exhaust manifold, remove the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts, and shield from the exhaust manifold.

You need to remove the oil pan skid plate, heated oxygen (HO2S) and disconnect the heated oxygen (HO2S) sensors harness connectors, the catalytic converter pipe to the exhaust manifold nuts and lower the converter and remove the exhaust seals and discard.
