You need to select a smooth road with little or no traffic, accelerate the vehicle to 48 km/h (30 mph), use moderate to firm pressure to apply the brakes to bring the vehicle to a stop, and repeat steps 2 and 3 until approximately 20 stops have been completed, and then allow sufficient cooling periods between stops to properly burnish the brake pads and rotors.

You need to remove the tire and wheel assembly, compress the brake caliper piston, use an open-end wrench to hold the guide pin, loosen the guide pin bolt, remove the guide pin bolt from the brake caliper, rotate the brake caliper upward until it stops on the caliper mounting bracket and supports the caliper with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent and remove the brake pads and the brake pad shims from the mounting bracket. Thoroughly clean the brake caliper piston faces and caliper to brake pad contact surfaces of all disc brake pad insulator adhesive residue with denatured alcohol and allow to dry.

You need to install the shims to the mounting bracket. If installing new brake pads, remove the adhesive backing paper from the brake pad insulator. You need to install the brake pads, rotate the brake caliper into the proper position on the mounting bracket, use an open-end wrench to hold the caliper guide pin, and install the tire and wheel assembly. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance. Then you can slowly release the brake pedal, firmly apply and maintain pressure on the brake pedal for 30 seconds to seat the brake pad insulators to the brake caliper pistons and caliper housing, fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the proper level with clean brake fluid and burnish the pads and rotors.

You need to install new brake pad retaining springs to the caliper bracket, the disc brake pads to the brake caliper bracket, positioning the brake pad wear sensor (if equipped) as noted during removal, the brake caliper to the caliper bracket, the brake caliper guide pin bolts and the tire and wheel assembly. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance. Then you can slowly release the brake pedal, fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the proper level with clean brake fluid and burnish the brake pads and discs.

You need to remove the tire and wheel assembly, compress the brake caliper pistons, remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts and the caliper from the caliper bracket and support with heavy mechanics wire or equivalent, the brake pads from the caliper bracket and discard the brake pad retaining springs and inspect the brake caliper.
