2009 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal

You should remove the rear propeller shaft.

You should raise and suitably support the vehicle, remove the transfer case shield, remove the front propeller shaft, remove the front output shaft seal by inserting a flat-tipped screwdriver behind the inner race of the seal, pry the inner seal race forward, move the inner seal race forward on the front output shaft, remove the inner seal race from the front output shaft, insert a flat-tipped screwdriver or small pry bar into the space between the lip of the outer race of the seal and the transfer case and remove the remaining part of the output shaft seal from the transfer case.

You should install the J 43484 to the J 8092 and install a seal onto J 43484, install the seal, install the front propeller shaft, check the fluid level, install the transfer case shield and lower the vehicle.

You should remove the seal using a flat-bladed tool, install the seal with the notch at the top and the weep hole at the bottom and use the appropriate seal installer depending on the application.

You need DT-48021 Seal Installer (Heavy Duty), DT-48210 Seal Installer (Light Duty), and J 8092 Drive Handle.
