You should open the hood, remove the oil fill cap, raise and suitably support the vehicle, place an oil drain pan under the oil pan drain plug, remove the oil pan drain plug, allow the oil to drain completely, clean and inspect the oil pan drain plug, clean and inspect the oil pan sealing surface, wipe any remaining oil from the drain plug hole and reinstall the oil pan drain plug until snug, position the drain pan under the Oil Filter, remove the oil filter and ensure that the oil filter gasket is still on the old filter if not, remove the oil filter gasket from the oil pan.

You should coat the threads with anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953, or equivalent, install the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), connect the HO2S electrical connector to the engine wiring harness electrical connector, install the CPA retainer, install the HO2S clip to the engine wiring harness and install the right wheelhouse liner.

You should lubricate the rocker arms and Pushrods with clean engine oil, lubricate the flange of the rocker arm bolts with clean engine oil, install the rocker arm pivot support, install the pushrods, install the rocker arms and bolts, rotate the crankshaft until the number one piston is at the top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke, tighten the following rocker arm bolts, rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees, tighten the following rocker arm bolts, install the number one cylinder spark plug and install the rocker arm cover.
