You should use the J 43631 separator and the J 45851 adapters to remove the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle and install the NEW lower ball joint retaining nut and tighten to 125 Nm(92 lb-ft) or the nut without the captured nuts, tighten to 70 Nm(52 lb-ft) plus an additional 90 degrees.

For vehicles equipped with the aluminum lower control arm, the ball joint is NOT serviced separately. If the ball joint in the aluminum lower control arm is found to have excessive wear and is damaged, you should replace the lower control arm as an assembly.
