You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the propeller shaft, support the transmission with a suitable jack and remove the transmission mount assembly.

The extension housing and drive shaft flange (yolk) on this vehicle are serviced as a complete assembly. The drive shaft flange seal is a dust shield used to protect the sealed drive shaft flange bearing that is pressed into the extension housing. The drive shaft flange is pressed into the drive shaft flange bearing and is not serviceable. The extension housing should not contain any transmission fluid. If transmission fluid is present in the extension housing, replacement of the output shaft seal is necessary.

You should install a new case extension O ring seal, install the case extension, install the case extension bolts, install the transmission mount, install the propeller shaft, remove the drain pan and the transmission jack, lower the vehicle and fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON(R)VI transmission fluid.

You should raise and suitably support the vehicle, support the transmission with a transmission jack, place a drain pan under the vehicle, remove the propeller shaft, remove the transmission mount, remove the case extension bolts, remove the case extension and remove and discard the case extension O ring seal.
