Q: What is the proper way to install the Camshaft Position Actuator?
A:
You can compress the timing chain tensioner guide, install the EN 46330, identify the alignment hole in the rear face of the CMP actuator and the locating pin on the front face of the camshaft, install the CMP actuator and timing chain, place a straight edge across the front face of the engine block, install a new CMP actuator solenoid valve, inspect the sprockets for proper alignment, remove the EN 46330, tighten the CMP actuator solenoid valve and install the oil pump.

You can remove the radiator support, the valve lifters, the engine front cover, and the starter motor install the J 42386-A and bolts, rotate the crankshaft sprocket, remove and discard the CMP actuator solenoid valve, remove the CMP actuator and timing chain, remove the camshaft retainer bolts and retainer, install the camshaft sprocket bolt into the camshaft front bolt hole, rotate and remove the camshaft from the engine block and remove the bolt from the camshaft.
