You can remove the brake drum, the brake shoe adjuster actuator lever spring, and the adjuster actuator lever, remove the brake shoe adjuster, inspect and replace any missing, worn, or damaged drum brake adjuster hardware, remove the brake shoe hold-down springs and cups, remove the lower brake shoe spring, rotate the primary brake shoe outward, disengage the return spring from the brake shoe web, remove the primary brake shoe, remove the brake shoe return spring, compress the park brake cable spring, disengage the park brake cable fitting end, remove the secondary brake shoe, clean the backing plate, apply high-temperature brake lubricant to the brake shoe contact surfaces of the rear brake backing plate and inspect and replace any missing, worn, or damaged drum brake hardware.
