2009 Chevrolet Equinox Ignition Lock Cylinder

Remove the multifunction turn signal switch housing and disconnect the electrical connectors as needed.

Install the wipers/washer switch and the steering column trim covers. Enable the SIR system and connect the negative battery cable.

The tools required include J 41340 Lock Cylinder Holding Fixture and Staking Tool.

You need to insert the appropriate tumbler according to the key code into the corresponding tumbler ward, the tumblers will not immediately seat into position because the sidebar has been pre-assembled, and the tumblers will have to be pushed past the sidebar with a small flat screwdriver or pocket knife. Then the tumbler springs should then be inserted into the spring wells in the cylinder where they will sit on top of the tumblers.
