Q: What is the steering gear installation procedure?
A:
Start by installing the rack and pinion assembly, and tighten the steering gear retaining bracket nuts to 50 Nm. Next, install the cross member, and tighten the nuts and bolts of the cross member to the underbody to 150 Nm. After that connect the steering gear inlet/outlet pipe fittings, and tighten the nuts of the steering gear inlet/outlet pipe fittings to 22 Nm. After that refill the power steering fluid, and install the intermediate shaft.
