The proper way is to force the retaining clip out and remove the reservoir and the O-ring seal from the inside of the hydraulic pump.

Q: How do you install the power steering fluid reservoir?
A:
You can install the fluid reservoir by lubricating the O-ring seal with fluid, aligning the reservoir with the hydraulic pump, and installing the retaining clips for the new reservoir.
