2008 GMC Yukon Axle Shaft

You can raise the vehicle, remove the front Differential carrier shield, clean the area around the front axle fill plug and the drain plug, remove the fill plug, remove the drain plug and drain the fluid from the front differential carrier assembly.

You should remove the bearing cups, assemble 1 bearing cup part way into 1 side of the yoke, turn the yoke ear toward the bottom, assemble the cross into the yoke, assemble the opposite bearing cup part way into the yoke ear, press the opposite bearing cup into the yoke ear, press the bearing cup into the yoke, assemble the bearing retainer and lubricate the snap ring with a slight amount of chassis grease.

The recommended torque is 165 N.m.
