Q: How to remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil?
A:
You can disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system, remove the SIR system, remove the upper and lower shrouds, remove the steering wheel, remove the steering wheel column wire harness from the wire harness straps, remove the retaining ring and then remove the SIR coil from the steering shaft.

Q: How to install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil?
A:
You can center the SIR coil assembly, install the existing SIR coil assembly, install a new SIR coil assembly, install the retaining ring to the steering shaft assembly, install the steering wheel column wire harness, install the steering wheel, remove the upper and lower shrouds, install the SIR system and then enable the SIR system.

Q: What should be done if the front of the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) coil has a centering window, and the back side has a spring service lock?
A:
You can hold the coil face-up, rotate the coil hub clockwise until the coiled ribbon stops, rotate the coil hub slowly, release the spring service lock between the locking tab and then align the centered SIR coil with the horn tower and slide onto the steering shaft assembly.
