Q: How to remove the thermal expansion valve?
A:
You can recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning (A/C) system, remove the rear evaporator line assembly, remove the thermal expansion valve (TXV) to evaporator core mounting bolts, disconnect the TXV from the evaporator, remove it from the vehicle, remove and discard the evaporator core seal washers and then cap or tape off the evaporator core.

You can install new seal washers to the evaporator core, the TXV to the evaporator core, the TXV to evaporator core mounting bolts, and the rear evaporator line assembly.
