Install the rear Axle Shaft, the C-lock to the rear axle, and the pinion shaft. Install and tighten the lock bolt to 25 N.m (18 LB-FT). Install the rear brake drums, and the rear axle housing cover and gasket. Fill the rear axle with fluid. Install the tire and wheel.
Q: What is the inspection procedure for Rear Axle Lubricant Level?
A:
Raise the vehicle. Make sure the vehicle is level. Inspect the rear axle for leaks. Clean the area around the rear axle fill plug. Remove the rear axle fill plug. Inspect the lubricant level. If the fluid level is low, add lubricant until the level is within specifications. Install the rear axle fill plug. Lower the vehicle.
Q: What is the recommended bolt torque for the retaining bolts?
