You should open the hood, remove the hood latch, disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch, tie a piece of string around the hood release cable, remove the fasteners securing the hood release handle to the vehicle, disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release handle and then remove the hood release cable grommet from the wheel opening and the hood release cable from the vehicle.
