You should check to be sure that the park brake is released, raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly, support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire or equivalent, remove the brake caliper and the caliper mounting bracket as an assembly from the suspension knuckle, support the assembly with heavy mechanic's wire, or equivalent, matchmark the position of the brake rotor to the wheel studs and remove the brake rotor mounting screw and the brake rotor.

You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly, support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic wire, or equivalent, whenever it is separated from its mount and the hydraulic flexible brake hose is still connected, remove the brake caliper and the caliper mounting bracket as an assembly from the suspension knuckle and support the assembly with heavy mechanic's wire, match mark the position of the brake rotor to the wheel studs and remove the brake rotor mounting screw and the brake rotor.

A:
You should road test a vehicle under safe conditions and while obeying all traffic laws, avoid attempting any maneuvers that could jeopardize vehicle control, select a smooth road with little or no traffic, accelerate the vehicle to 48 km/h (30 mph), use care to avoid overheating the brakes while performing this step, apply the brakes to bring the vehicle to a stop, repeat until approximately 20 stops have been completed and allow sufficient cooling periods between stops to properly burnish the brake pads and rotors.

A:
You should clean any rust or corrosion from the mating surface of the hub/axle flange and of the brake rotor, ensure that no foreign particles or debris are remaining, mount the brake rotor to the brake lathe, ensure that any vibration dampening attachments are securely in place, slowly bring in the cutting tools until they just contact the brake rotor friction surfaces, observe the witness mark on the brake rotor, refinish the brake rotor, inspect the brake rotor thickness, obtain the desired non-directional finish, remove the brake rotor from the brake lathe and measure the assembled LRO of the brake rotor to ensure optimum performance of the disc brakes.
