2008 Cadillac Escalade ESV Differential Bearing

You can remove the tire and wheel assembly, the brake caliper, the rear wheel speed sensor, the rear axle housing cover and the gasket, the pinion shaft locking bolt, the pinion shaft, the shaft part way, push the flange of the Axle Shaft, remove the C-lock from the button end of the axle shaft, the axle shaft from the housing, the axle shaft from the housing.

You can remove the front Differential carrier shield, the fill plug, and the drain plug, and drain the fluid from the front differential carrier assembly.

If there seems to be a hangup or binding, stop pressing, and inspect the needle bearings for misalignment in the bearing cup.
