You may need to install the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod without tightening the jam nut, then install the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle, install the outer tie rod retaining nut and tighten the outer tie rod retaining nut to 47 N.m (35 lb-ft) then tighten the outer tie rod retaining nut up to 1/6 additional turn, or 70 N.m (52 lb-ft) maximum, then install the tire and wheel, lower the vehicle, and adjust the front toe.

You will need to remove the tire and wheel, remove the outer tie rod retaining nut and loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod, then remove the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using J 24319-B, then remove the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod.

A:
You will need to raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel, remove the outer tie rod, then remove the hex jam nut from the inner tie rod, remove the tie rod end clamp from the rack and pinion boot, remove the rack and pinion boot clamp from the rack and pinion boot, then remove the rack and pinion boot from the steering gear.

You may need to install the rack and pinion boot to the steering gear, install a new rack and pinion boot clamp, using J 22610 crimp the rack and pinion boot clamp, then install the tie rod end clamp to the rack and pinion boot, install the hex jam nut to the inner tie rod assembly, install the outer tie rod, install the tire and wheel, finally lower the vehicle and adjust the toe alignment.
