2008 Cadillac DTS Oil Pan

You will need to drain the engine oil, remove the front exhaust manifold pipe, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the oil level sensor, loosen the oil pan bolts, remove the oil pan and discard the oil pan gasket, then clean and inspect the oil pan, if necessary.

You may need to fill and slightly overfill the oil pan seal groove with a continuous bead of RTV sealant, ensure the RTV sealant is higher than the oil pan sealing surface by 3 mm (0.118 in), then install one EN 46109 into the bolt hole in each side of the lower crankcase, position the oil pan to the lower crankcase and finger start the oil pan bolts, next tighten the oil pan bolts a first pass to 8 N.m (71 lb in), a final pass to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
