Q: How to install the engine coolant temperature sensor?
A:
You may need to apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the threads of the ECT sensor, install the ECT sensor, tighten the sensor to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft), connect the engine harness electrical connector to the ECT sensor, fill the cooling system and install the fuel injector sight shield.

You will need to remove the fuel injector sight shield, drain the cooling system, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, then remove the ECT sensor.
