First, you need to remove the left-side engine splash shield, the intermediate Steering Shaft bolt, and the lower intermediate steering shaft bolt. Then, please disconnect the lower intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear, disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the upper intermediate steering shaft and remove the lower intermediate steering shaft from the vehicle with the intermediate steering shaft still connected. Finally, you should remove the intermediate steering shaft bolt and disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the lower intermediate steering shaft.

You should perform the Steering Angle Sensor centering after replacing the steering gear, the steering column, the steering angle sensor, the intermediate shaft, the electronic brake control module (EBCM), or collision or other physical damage.

First, you need to inspect the capsules on the Steering Column bracket assembly and verify that the capsules are seated securely in the bracket slots, and inspect the capsules for any loose conditions when pushed or pulled by hand. If the capsules are not secure, you should replace the bracket(the bracket is bolted to the jacket assembly) or replace the jacket assembly(the bracket is welded to the jacket assembly). Then, please inspect the jacket assembly for collapse by measuring the distance from the lower edge of the upper jacket to a defined point on the lower jacket. If measured dimensions (A), are not within specifications (100 mm), you should install a steering column.
