You need to raise and support the vehicle, place a drain pan under the oil pan drain plug, remove the oil pan drain plug, install the oil pan drain plug, place the drain pan under the Oil Filter, and then remove the oil filter.
Q: How do you install the Oil Pan?
A:
You need to install the 8 mm (0.315 in) guides from the EN 46109 into the center Oil Pan rail bolt hole on each side of the engine block, place a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant, GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) or equivalent, on the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing, position the oil pan onto the block, remove the EN 46109 8 mm (0.315 in) guides from the engine block, install the oil pan bolts, tighten the oil pan bolts in the sequence shown, install the air conditioning (A/C) compressor and the exhaust flexible pipe, lower the vehicle, refill the engine oil, and then connect the battery negative cable.
