You shall ensure the oil cooler line being installed has a plastic cap on the end that connects to the quick-connect fitting before installation, and must not use the plastic cap to install the cooler line into the fitting.

Q: How to install the engine oil cooler pipe/hose quick connect fitting?
A:
The proper way is to install a new retaining ring, hook one of the open ends of the retaining ring in one of the slots in the quick connector to rotate, install the engine oil cooler line, and snap the plastic cap onto the quick connect fitting.

Q: How to remove the engine oil cooler pipe/hose quick connect fitting?
A:
The proper way is to disengage the plastic caps, pull on one of the open ends of the retaining ring, rotate the retaining ring around the quick connector until the retaining ring is out of position, and remove the engine oil cooler line.
