Q: What is the brake shoe installation procedure?
A:
First apply a thin, light coat of high-temperature silicone brake lubricant to the contact surfaces of the right/left brake backing plates. Place the hook end of the J 38400 under the universal spring and lightly pull the universal spring end out while installing the trailing brake shoe. Next, install the park brake cable to the park brake lever on the brake shoe. Install the adjuster actuator lever to the pivot, and the adjuster spring and adjust the drum brake system. Finally, install the brake drum and the tire/wheel assembly.
