You need to remove both of the front tire and wheel assemblies, remove the engine protection shield if equipped, then disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle, disconnect the power steering hose assembly from the steering gear, then remove the coupler clamp bolt from the intermediate shaft, and separate the intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Next, you should remove the steering gear vertical mounting nuts, the washers and the bolts, the steering gear horizontal mounting nuts, the washers, the bolts, and the crossmember, 2WD only, and finally remove the steering gear from the vehicle.
