A:
You should not hammer the pinion flange/yoke onto the pinion shaft. Pinion components may be damaged if the pinion flange/yoke is hammered onto the pinion shaft.

Q: How to remove the Drive Pinion Bearings?
A:
You need to remove the differential carrier assembly, the drive pinion from the axle, then press the bearing off of the pinion, remove the shim, remove the outer pinion bearing cup and the inner pinion bearing cup from the axle housing using a hammer and a brass drift in the slots provided.
