You need to remove the intake manifold, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor, remove the valve lifter oil manifold bolts and the valve lifter oil manifold and identify the 8 gasket retaining strap locations and remove the outer gasket from the valve lifter oil manifold.

Q: How do you install the Valve Lifter (RPO L92-First Design)?
A:
You need to lubricate the valve lifters and engine block valve lifter bores with clean engine oil, insert the valve lifters into the lifter guides and install the valve lifters and guide to the engine block, the valve lifter guide bolts and the cylinder head and gasket.

Q: How do you install the valve lifter oil filter?
A:
You need to install a new valve lifter oil filter O-ring seal into the valve lifter oil manifold and the new valve lifter oil filter and apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the threads of the oil pressure sensor. Then you can install the oil pressure sensor washer and sensor, connect the engine harness electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor and install the intake manifold.

The proper way is to place the service gasket onto the valve lifter oil manifold, install the valve lifter oil manifold to the engine and the valve lifter oil manifold bolts, connect the engine harness electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor and install the intake manifold.
