The proper way is to Inspect the CMP O-ring seal for cuts or damage. If the seal is not cut or damaged, it may be used again. Then you can lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil and install the O-ring seal onto the sensor, the CMP sensor to the front cover, and the CMP sensor wire harness. Next, you can connect the CMP sensor wire harness electrical connectors to the CMP sensor and the CMP actuator magnet, install the 3 CMP sensor wire harness bolts and connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the CMP sensor wire harness.

You need to raise and support the vehicle, disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the CMP sensor wire harness, remove the 3 CMP sensor wire harness bolts, disconnect the CMP sensor wire harness electrical connectors from the CMP sensor, and the CMP actuator magnet and remove the CMP sensor wire harness and remove the CMP sensor and O-ring seal.

Q: How do you install the engine oil pressure sensor and/or switch?
A:
You need to apply a sealant to the threads of the new Oil Pressure Sensor. If equipped with active fuel management perform the following step, using J 41712 or equivalent, and install the oil pressure sensor and washer. If not equipped with active fuel management, perform the following step, using J 41712 or equivalent. Install the oil pressure sensor and washer, connect the engine harness electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor and install the intake manifold.
Q: How do you remove the engine oil level sensor and/or switch?
A:
You need to place a suitable drain pan under the oil pan drain plug, remove the oil pan drain plug, allow the oil pan to drain completely, re-install the oil pan drain plug until snug, remove the drain pan from under the vehicle, disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the oil level sensor and remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.
Q: What is the proper way to install the accelerator pedal position sensor?
A:
The proper way is to position the accelerator pedal to the accelerator pedal bracket and connect the APP sensor electrical connector and a scan tool to the diagnostic port to test for proper throttle-opening and throttle-closing range. Then operate the accelerator pedal and monitor the throttle angles. The accelerator pedal should operate freely, without binding, between a closed throttle, and a wide open throttle (WOT) and install the knee bolster.
