Q: How do you install the rear brake caliper bracket (2500 series)?
A:
You need to install the retaining springs to the caliper bracket, the brake pads, the caliper to the caliper bracket, the brake caliper guide pin bolts to the caliper bracket, and the caliper and caliper bracket as an assembly. Next, you can perform the following procedure before installing the caliper bracket bolts, install the brake caliper bracket mounting bolts, tighten the brake caliper guide pin bolts and install the tire and wheel assembly. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance. Then you can slowly release the brake pedal, wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 10-11 until a firm pedal is obtained to properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads and fill the master cylinder reservoir to the proper level with clean brake fluid, if necessary.

Q: How do you remove the rear brake caliper (1500 series)?
A:
You need to inspect the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir. If the fluid level is midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, no fluid needs to be removed from the reservoir before proceeding. If the fluid level is higher than midway between the maximum-full point and the minimum allowable level, remove fluid to the midway point before proceeding. Next, you can raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly, clean all dirt and foreign material from the brake hose fitting, compress the caliper piston, remove the brake hose to the caliper bolt, position the brake hose to the side and remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket.
