You need to install the locating pins to the new encoder motor, position a new actuator insulator gasket to the transfer case, install the encoder motor and encoder motor bolts, connect the encoder motor electrical connector and the transfer case switch electrical connector, and install the front propeller shaft and the transfer case shield.

Q: How do you remove the Front Drive Axle Actuator?
A:
You need to remove the front differential carrier shield, disconnect the electrical connector from the actuator and remove the actuator for the 8.25-inch axle or the 9.5-inch axle by turning the actuator counterclockwise.

Q: How do you remove the Transfer Case Encoder Motor?
A:
You need to remove the transfer case shield and the front propeller shaft, disconnect the transfer case switch electrical connector and the encoder motor electrical connector, and remove the encoder motor bolts, the encoder motor, and the actuator insulator gasket. If replacing the encoder motor, remove the locating pins from the old motor.
