The proper way is to mount the half-shaft, place the new small-eared clamp, position the small end of the joint seal, install the spacer ring and the trilobal tripot bushing, check the gap dimension, and then fully stroke the joint several times to disperse the grease.

Do not cut through the wheel drive shaft inboard seal during service. Cutting through the seal may damage the sealing surface of the housing and the tripot bushing. Damage to the sealing surface may lead to water and dirt intrusion and premature wear of the constant velocity joint.

The procedure is to remove the large boot retaining clamp, the housing, the trilobal tripot bushing, the lower spacer ring, the second spacer ring, and all traces of old grease and any contaminates.

The procedure is to remove the swaging ring, the large seal retaining clamp, the inboard seal, the housing, and the spacer ring.

The proper way is to place the new small boot clamp, position the small end of the joint boot, align the half-shaft inboard boot, install the spacer ring, the half-shaft bar retaining ring, the trilobal tripot bushing, and then fully stroke the joint several times to disperse the grease.
