You can lower the sunshade and raise the mirror and the lamp cover (the door), insert a small flat-bladed tool at the lower edge of the vanity mirror lamp lens then press down to release the lens, the vanity mirror lamp lens from the sunshade, and the bulb from the socket.

Atest lamp can simply and quickly test a low-impedance circuit for voltage. A DMM should be used instead of a test lamp to test for voltage in high-impedance circuits. While a test lamp shows whether the voltage is present if the impedance is low enough, a DMM indicates how much voltage is present. In other words, if there is not enough current, the test lamp will not illuminate even though voltage is present.

You can install the bulb into the socket, the vanity mirror lamp lens to the sunshade, align the lens tabs into the housing slots and insert the upper edge of the lens first, insert a small flat-bladed tool then press up to fully install the lens, and close the lamp cover door and raise the sunshade.
