After removing the large seal retaining clamp and the swage ring, you need to separate the half-shaft outboard seal, slide the seal, wipe the grease, and spread the ears on the race retaining ring. Then you need to remove the constant velocity (CV) joint assembly and the half-shaft outboard seal, discard the old outboard seal, place a brass drift, tap on the brass drift, and remove the first chrome alloy ball. Then you can tilt the CV joint cage, lift out the cage and the inner race, remove the inner race, and clean the race assemblies, the CV joint cage, and the chrome alloy balls. Then you can dry all the parts, replace any damaged parts, and clean the half-shaft bar.
