Q: What should be done before servicing the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal and Housing?
A:
Clean the crankshaft sealing surface with a clean, lint-free towel. Inspect the lead-in edge of the crankshaft for burrs/sharp edges that could damage the rear main oil seal. Remove burrs/sharp edges with crocus cloth before proceeding.

Install the crankshaft front oil seal in the engine front cover using the J 35354-A. Tighten the bolt until the crankshaft front oil seal is seated in the engine front cover. Remove the J 35354-A. Install the crankshaft balancer. Inspect for leaks.
