2006 GMC Yukon Differential

You need to raise the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly, the brake caliper, the rear wheel speed sensor, the rear cover, and the gasket, the pinion shaft locking bolt, and the pinion shaft, push the flange of the Axle Shaft, remove the C-lock from the button end of the axle shaft, and remove the axle shaft from the housing.

You need to cut through the swaging ring, cut off the small boot clamp, slide the boot down the half-shaft bar and away, wipe all grease away, find the half-shaft bar retaining snap ring, spread the snap ring ears apart, pull the CV joint and the CV Joint Boot, discard the old CV joint boot, place a brass drift against the CV joint cage, tap gently on the brass drift, remove the first chrome alloy ball, tilt the CV joint cage in the opposite direction to remove the opposing chrome alloy ball, remove all six of the balls, pivot the CV joint cage and the inner race 90 degrees to the center line of the outer race, lift out the cage and the inner race, remove the inner race, clean the inner and outer race assemblies, the CV joint cage and the chrome alloy balls, dry all the parts, check the CV joint assembly, and clean the half shaft bar.

You need to raise the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly, the axle shafts, and the differential assembly, install the smallest expanding driver and the small driving washer, align the separation lines between the expanding driver and the expander assembly, assemble the expander assembly and the drive bar extension, insert the J 33049 into the axle tube and through the Axle Shaft Seal, turn the driving bar clockwise, and drive out the seal.
