2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parking Brake Shoe

The procedure is to raise the vehicle, remove the rear tire and wheel assemblies, relieve the park brake system tension at the equalizer assembly, remove the rear caliper bracket and the rear rotor, disconnect and remove the rear park brake cable, disconnect the park brake cable return spring, remove the rear hub, remove the 2 retainers and the park brake cable bracket, remove the park brake shoe and actuator and separate the park brake shoe from the actuator.

You can assemble the park brake shoe to the actuator, install the park brake shoe and actuator, position the park brake shoe, actuator, and backing plate over the rear hub, install the park brake cable bracket and the two retainers, install the rear hub, install and connect the rear park brake cable to the bracket at the rear wheel, connect the park brake cable return spring to the park brake actuator and bracket at the rear wheel, install the rear rotor, the rear caliper bracket and the rear tire and wheel assemblies, adjust the park brake system and lower the vehicle.
