2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Fuel Sending Unit

The procedure is to remove the fuel tank, disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) lines and the fuel line, reposition the fuel feed and EVAP lines, unlock the fuel sender lock ring, remove the fuel sender, remove and discard the fuel sender O-ring seal, clean and inspect the fuel sender assembly O-ring seal sealing surfaces, place the lock ring on a flat surface and measure the clearance between to lock ring and the flat surface. If the warpage is greater than 0.41 mm (0.016 in), the lock ring must be replaced.

You can position the new fuel sender O-ring seal onto the fuel tank, install the fuel sender, push down the fuel sender, position the lock ring onto the fuel tank, install the fuel sender lock ring, connect the fuel line to the sender, connect the EVAP lines to the sender and install the fuel tank.
