2006 Chevrolet Equinox Throttle Body

The procedure is to remove the air intake duct, inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits, clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with General Motors (GM) top engine cleaner, and then install the air intake duct.

The recommended torque is 10 N.m (89 lb in).

You should not insert any tools into the throttle body bore to avoid damage to the throttle valve plate.

You can install the throttle body studs, the throttle body, the throttle body bolts, the heater outlet pipe, and the air cleaner intake duct.

You can remove the air cleaner intake duct, remove the heater outlet pipe, cover the throttle body opening with a shop towel and use the shop air to remove any dirt at the base of the throttle body, disconnect the throttle actuator control (TAC) module electrical connector, remove the throttle body bolts, remove the throttle body from the intake manifold, block the intake manifold opening with a clean shop towel to prevent dirt from entering and then remove the throttle body studs.
