You should ensure the lock cylinder case mounting clamp tab is properly installed. Rock the lock cylinder case back and forth to ensure it is seated into the lock bolt cutout.

Q: What should be noticed when removing the ignition lock cylinder case housing from the steering column?
A:
The lock cylinder must be in the RUN position for the lock cylinder case removal. If the lock cylinder is stuck in the OFF position with the lock bolt engaged then proceed to step 8 for cutting off the lock cylinder housing collar.

Q: What is the installation procedure for the Ignition Lock Cylinder?
A:
The procedure is to position the lock cylinder in the run position, insert the cylinder into the lock housing, rotate the lock cylinder in the housing, install the theft deterrent control module, install the steering column trim covers, enable the SIR system, connect the negative battery cable, program the theft deterrent control module.
