You should apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the heater outlet hose fitting threads and install the heater outlet hose fitting and the heater hose inlet to the heater pipe outlet.

The recommended torque is 45 N.m (33 lb-ft).

Q: How do you install the heater hose?
A:
You should apply coolant to the end of the heater inlet hose, place the clamps on the hose before installing the hose to the inlet hose fitting at the engine block, and install the heater inlet hose to the inlet hose fitting at the engine block and the heater inlet hose to the heater core inlet.
