Q: What is the installation procedure for the exhaust camshaft and lifter?
A:
The procedure is to lubricate the valve tips, install the hydraulic element lash adjusters, install the camshaft roller followers, ensure that the alignment notches are aligned with the camshaft sprocket, install the exhaust camshaft, install the camshaft bearing caps, tighten the camshaft bearing cap bolts, install the camshaft sprockets, hand tighten new camshaft sprocket bolts, remove the J 43655, tighten the camshaft sprocket bolts, install the upper timing chain guide and install the camshaft cover.

A:
You can remove the camshaft cover, remove the upper timing chain guide, install the J 43655, remove both the intake and the exhaust camshaft sprocket bolts, slide the camshaft sprockets forward, mark the bearing caps, remove the bearing cups, remove the exhaust camshaft, remove the camshaft roller followers and remove the hydraulic element lash adjusters.

The procedure is to remove the camshaft cover, remove the upper timing chain guide, install the J 43655, remove both the intake and exhaust camshaft sprocket bolts, slide the camshaft sprockets forward, remove the power steering pump bolts and set the pump aside, mark bearing caps, remove the bearing caps, remove the intake camshaft, remove the camshaft roller followers and remove the hydraulic element lash adjusters.
