2005 Buick Rainier Control Arm

You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel and the upper ball joint to the upper control arm pinch bolt and nut, disconnect the upper control arm from the steering knuckle and the antilock brake system wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the upper control arm. If removing the left side, you should remove the battery tray, then gently pry out on the inner fender body panel to access the forward-facing bolt and remove the upper control arm mounting bolts and the upper control arm.

You should raise and support the vehicle and the rear axle at the designed D height. If equipped with air suspension, you should depressurize the air suspension system and remove the rear axle lower control arm to the axle mounting nut and bolt, the rear axle lower control arm to the frame mounting nut and bolt, and the lower control arm.

You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel and the wheelhouse panel and raise and support the rear axle at the designed D-height. If equipped with air suspension, you should depressurize the air suspension system and if equipped with air suspension, you should disconnect the air suspension leveling sensor link from the rear axle upper control arm. Then, you should remove the rear axle upper control arm to the axle mounting bolt and nut, the rear axle upper control arm to the frame mounting bolt, and the rear axle upper control arm.

You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel and the stabilizer shaft link lower retaining nut, disconnect the stabilizer shaft link and washer from the lower control arm, remove the lower control arm to the lower control arm bracket mounting nuts and the lower control arm to lower control arm bracket mounting bolts, pivot the lower control arm outward and downward for access to the lower control arm bracket and remove the lower control arm bracket mounting bolts from the frame and the lower control arm bracket from the vehicle.

You should raise and support the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel and the outer tie rod retaining nut, disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using J24319-B, remove the stabilizer shaft link lower retaining nut, disconnect the stabilizer shaft link and washer from the lower control arm, remove the shock module yoke lower mounting nut, disconnect the shock module yoke from the lower control arm using J24319-B, remove the lower control arm to the lower control arm bracket mounting nuts and bolts, remove lower ball joint retaining nut, disconnect lower ball joint from the steering knuckle using J43631, disconnect the lower control arm from the lower control arm bracket and remove the lower control arm from the steering knuckle.
