Then, please remove the gasket from the crankshaft rear oil seal housing and the cylinder block, inspect the ID of the bore Correct or replace the crankshaft rear oil seal housing. Finally, you should inspect the crankshaft for nicks of burrs on the surface that contacts the seal, and repair or replace the crankshaft as required.

The recommended torque is 15 N.m (11 lb-ft).

First, you need to remove the crankshaft balancer and the bolt. Then, please use a screwdriver to pry out the crankshaft front oil seal.

First, you need to install the oil seal, use the crankshaft balancer bolt with the tool, and tighten the bolt until the crankshaft front oil seal is seated in the engine front cover. Then, please coat the inside seal surface of the crankshaft balancer with lubricant GM P/N 10522497 or equivalent. Finally, you should install the crankshaft balancer and the bolt.

You need to use the J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter and the J 41349 Rear Cover Aligner.
