You should install the new oil filter, install the engine oil drain plug, lower the vehicle, fill the engine with new engine oil and inspect for oil leaks after the engine start-up.

You should raise and support the vehicle, position the oil drain pan under the engine oil drain plug, remove the engine oil drain plug, clean and inspect the engine oil drain plug, repair or replace if necessary, clean and inspect the engine oil drain plug sealing surface on the oil pan, remove the oil filter and clean and inspect the oil filter sealing area on the oil filter adapter, and repair or replace if necessary.

You should remove the oil pan, the oil pump pipe screen bolts, the oil pump screen and the gasket, clean the screen and the housing, blow dry the screen and the housing and clean the gasket mating surfaces.

You should install the oil pump screen gasket, the oil pump screen, the oil pump screen bolts, and the oil pan.
