The installation procedure is to install the new boot clamp onto the rack and pinion boot, apply grease to the inner rod and apply grease to the gear assembly before the boot installation, install the boot onto the inner tie rod assembly, install the boot onto the gear assembly until the boot is seated in the gear assembly groove, install the boot clamp, crimp the boot clam, install the tie rod end clamp, the jam nut, and the outer tie rod.

The disassembly procedure is to loosen both cylinder line fittings on the cylinder end of the gear assembly and both fittings on the cylinder line assemblies at the valve end of the gear assembly, remove both cylinder line assemblies from the rack and pinion gear assembly, remove the O-ring seals from the valve end of the line and discard them.
