A:
The procedure is to disable the SIR system, remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module, disconnect the steering column electrical connector, remove the steering wheel retaining nut, install J 42578 and J 1859-A and remove the steering wheel.

Q: How do you repair scratched wood steering wheels?
A:
You can remove the steering wheel, wash the wood section of the wheel, mask off the non-wood area of the steering wheel, and with 400 grit sandpaper first, wash the wood section of the wheel again, coat the steering wheel and install the steering wheel.

You can install the steering wheel, install the steering wheel retaining nut, connect the steering column electrical connector, install the inflator module and enable the SIR system.
