2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT Radiator Hose

You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the upper Radiator baffle, the headlamps, the upper condenser mounting bolts, the bolts from the front end diagonal brace and the front end diagonal brace, and remove the fan shroud, the tie bar to radiator brace bolts, the radiator mounting bolts, the tie bar bolts, the upper headlamp housing support screws and remove the tie bar.

You need to drain the cooling system, loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps, remove the radiator inlet hose clip, the air cleaner outlet duct, the engine sight shield, and the radiator vent inlet hose, position the inlet hose clamp, remove the inlet hose and the fan blade, position the outlet hose clamp, remove the outlet hose, position the surge tank outlet hose clamp, remove the surge tank outlet hose, position the heater inlet hose clamp, remove the heater inlet hose and the Water Pump bolts, remove and discard the water pump and gaskets.

You need to disengage the plastic caps from the quick-connect fittings, pull the caps back along the pipe, pull on one of the open ends of the retaining ring, and rotate the retaining ring around the quick connector until the retaining ring is out of position and can be completely removed. You also need to discard the retaining rings, remove the Engine Oil Cooler line, pull the lines straight out from the connectors, clean all of the components in a suitable solvent, dry them with compressed air, and inspect the fittings, the connectors, the cooler lines, and the cooler for damage, distortion, or restriction.
