The recommended torque is 10 Nm (89-inch lbs.).

You need to apply the parking brake, shift the transmission into neutral, raise and suitably support the vehicle, remove the retainer that secures the cable to the bracket, depress the tangs and remove the cable from the bracket, remove the bolts securing the transmission range selector cable bracket, and remove the transmission range selector cable bracket.

You should avoid unnecessary twisting/bending of the range selector cable when removing the cable from the support.

You need to place the steering column shift lever back into the park position, raise the vehicle, ensure that the transmission manual shaft lever is in the park position, pull the white cover back, push the end of the transmission end inside the shifter end, release the transmission end and allow the spring to tension/adjust the cable system, pull the white cover, push the natural colored lock button, release the white cover, and verify the white cover conceals the natural colored lock.

You need to position the steering column shift lever, remove the instrument panel knee bolster and the driver's seat, pull back the carpet and insulation, remove the retainer and the cable end, depress the tangs, remove the cable, the bolt, and the range selector cable, raise and support the vehicle, remove the clips, ensure the transmission manual shaft is positioned in the mechanical park, remove the retainer, the cable clip and the range selector cable end, depress the tangs, remove the cable from the bracket, and lower the vehicle and ensure that the steering column shift lever is still in the park position.
