Q: What should be noticed about the SIR sensing system?
A:
Proper operation of the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) sensing system requires that any repairs to the vehicle structure return the vehicle structure to the original production configuration. Not properly repairing the vehicle structure could cause non-deployment of the airbag(s) in a frontal collision or deployment of the airbag(s) for conditions less severe than intended.

Q: What should be noticed when handling or storing a live (undeployed) inflator module?
A:
You should take special care when handling or storing a live (undeployed) inflator module. An inflator module deployment produces a rapid generation of gas. This may cause the inflator module, or an object in front of the inflator module, to project through the air in the event of an unlikely deployment.

Q: What should be known about the inflator module?
A:
You should be aware that the inflator module can be deployed inside or outside of the vehicle. The method used depends upon the final disposition of the vehicle.
